financial planning is a big part of following your dreams.
if you are just starting out with no credit-start with a low interest secured loan to build your credit.
always invest as much as possible into a 401k plan
savings bonds are good when just starting out as well.
if you wish to buy a house? there are several programs designed to help first time home owners.
dont use credit cards unless you pay them off mostly each month.
dont keep credit cards active if they are not in use!
on a mortgage and car loan etc...always pay a few bucks extra towards principal amazingly you will pay off your loan much quicker.
pay cash for everything.
DO it YOURSelf!!! here is my Pinterest link -(which when i first heard of Pinterest I thought it was a stupid waste of time. after all who wanted to waste time sitting around copying other people's pictures we could already find on the internet?) Turns out I am hooked! It is not a waste of time, it is a collaboration of each person's point of view towards life and what they believe it and enjoy.
Kind of like having an entire new magazine with each and every persons boards you see.
I take and choose my favorites and pin them to my own boards. Visual appeal and inspiration...people love that.
The best part of all is the DIY collection i am accumulating as well as the recipe collection!
all great stuff to save time and money at home.

coupons coupons coupons. sales sales sales. never buy things at full price if you can avoid it. why pay more than someone else for the same things? unless you have a boatload of cash and really dont care, if so then why are you here reading how to live on less? ;)
buy things you absolutely love, dont settle for less thinking you will be saving money. you wont be happy. and may end up spending twice to get what you really want after all. wait for what you really want. patience is a virtue.
do not apply for credit cards and loans or even car insurance quotes, they affect your credit score and consumer report.
always put away 10percent or more of any money you receive into a savings account you never touch at least until you have enough to live on a monthly budget for at least 6 months to a year or more.
after that did you really miss the cash? keep it going into the account and watch your savings grow.
grow your own herbs, garden and find many other ways to recycle and reuse items.
