we all need to feel good about ourselves when we look for a job. our body language and self confidence and the way we feel actually shows.
when we feel pulled together we will have a ton more confidence.
you may not like the way you look once you are pulled together. Stop and believe this! you are uniquely beautiful as God made each of us unique. when we feel beautiful inside and smile we will exude confidence and beauty.
this is what gets the job.
once thing about fashion. do not dress in business dress clothes one day, punk clothes the next and prairie clothes etc...stick with one style!
if you are going preppy, yuppy, goth, punk, down to earth whatever it may be find a few favorite comfortable pieces that fit well and build from there.
when you dress in the same style each day you portray reliability. people know what to expect.
when they rely on you showing up dressed about the same each day maybe with a fresh addition of color for variety here and there dont just wear all black every single day...
they will rely on you to do more than just show up in the same style clothing. ;)

makeup. do not cake it on. some people may believe it is a necessity.
my son once told me to stop wearing makeup
so i did. an all natural effect is so plain. but so refreshing! if you insist on makeup choose a bit of lipgloss in a light shade and a bit of mascara.
nails short filed and lightly polished if at all. the long nails are nice if you dont plan on doing anything.
jewelry. one ring not 12. come on really, do we need to see your entire jewelry collection all in one day? are the rings holding your fingers on? one ring is plenty to accent your outfit.
shoes. dont even get me started on shoes.
you know this midwest fashion advice really sucks. snowsuit and boots to get to work nice office shoes and pants when you arrive. really not fun.
if it was me i would hibernate til spring.
people in the midwest dress really super boring.
i think this is why so many teenagers are tattooing and piercing themselves. people dress so boring here.
i give up on fashion in the midwest. lol. it doesnt really exist and i cannot for the life of me understand how they can say dress nice and believe people are really dressed nice showing up in loafer shoes khaki pants and a nice sweatshirt. oh my....
just dress neatly. and follow my grandmothers advice, if it fits and gets the job done then it works.
